Uni work - The Wrong Skin by GRichmond Uni work - The Wrong Skin by GRichmond
This is the piece that came out of knitting the black one.

I wont bore you with the full explanation of what it's about, but the basics are that I'm looking at transgenderism, and this is about being in the wrong skin.

The grey was much easier to photograph.

Again, this was so much fun to wear :P

Thank you very much. Yeah, aesthetically speaking, the black one is nicer to look at. It's my ninja suit, I love it, haha. (Bu the grey one has the visual language I was going for :P)

And thank you. I'm iffy with photography, so I just did the best I could.

My daughter says this looks like a costume for 9. It was a CGI Tim Burton movie.

Definitely a strange film. It's an animated film [link] about a rag doll. Here is the description from the Internet Movie Database: "A rag doll that awakens in a post-apocalyptic future holds the key to humanity's salvation." I saw it with my teens once and it was just really strange. You can probably get if from Netflix or something.

The photo with the needle and the tattoo is a particularly interesting one. I'm not sure how well it would fit in with your transgender theme, but the idea of covering up skin that you've already personalised seems to have a lot going for it. That photo on its own, with no other context, would raise a lot of questions- though it's still great to see the whole suit. I agree with GhostHuntress: the grey just seems to work better somehow (though it might just be more photogenic).

Thank you so much for you comment. That's a really interesting idea that you brought up, I may come back to that at some point. I, too, really liked the closer pictures, I though they had a lot more interesting language in them, but unfortunately not all of them related to my subject, haha.

Thank you again for commenting ^_^

This is so totally EPIC!!! You look like a life-sized toy doll! I know that's not what you were going for but, I love it! And I think grey kind of goes better with what you were going for and looking at as far as transgenderism. Because transgender is kind of a grey area, after all, not really sure what you are. I really like this!

Plus, it looks all warm and comfy!!! Full body pajamas!! :D

Thank you so much ^__^ Yeah, the grey was definately a concious decision for a number of reasons.

Haha, yeah, on the body it was really warm, but since it was over the face it got pretty claustrophobic after a while ^^; Especially since I couldn't find the end of the yarn when it came to getting out of it, and was really worried that I might cut the wrong thread and it would all unravel D:
